Hermanus

Between June and October/November the majestic Southern Right whales come to the Western Cape to give birth to their calves. You can spot them in the waters around Cape Town, but the best viewing place is in the bay/harbour of Hermanus - a small seaside town just east of Cape Town, which is famous not only for its whales but its wines.
At times up to 70 whales can be seen off the coast and in the bay. This truly is a once in a lifetime site not to be missed.
