the most gay friendly towns in South Africa, Knysna.


Eastern Cape Pride,  26 – 28 September 2008
The first ever Pride in Steytlerville.


Johannesburg Pride,  28 September – 4 October 2008
The longest standing Gay celebration in Africa.


Moby Dick Festival Hermanus,  November 2008
The second festival in Hermanus.


Out in Africa Film Festival,  November 2008
A Gay & Lesbian Film Festival held in all the major cities, covering the latest movies and documentaries from the International Circuit.


Cape Town Pride,  20 February to 1 March 2009
Pink Ubunthu- Uniting the Cultures of Cape Town
This 10 day Festival includes the usual popular fun events like the Pride Pageant, The Red Party, The Pride Divas and Sunset Cruise, as well as more serious ones such as the Pride Book Fair, and the Pride Art & Photographic Exhibition. The highlight of the Festival is the annual parade through the centre of the City of Cape Town on Saturday 28th February, followed by a Carnival Party in the de Waterkant Village. There are also several fringe events hosted by individuals and other gay bars, clubs and businesses.
